Two Short Plays for an Unknown Land

Jeanne Larrouturou and Aude Seigne

Saturday September 25. and Sunday 26. 2021
Performance runs for approx. 15 min.

The Fondation Atelier Philippe Grosclaude is located in a former factory that was home to two businesses in succession, before becoming an artist’s studio over thirty years ago. It is a place where life and art are foremost, concentrating the memory of its history, one that is made up of individuals, gestures, ideas, sensations, doubts, successes, and reveries.

The percussionist Jeanne Larrouturou and the writer Aude Seigne were invited to recreate in their different languages their first impressions of a site that eventually became a space where artists and audiences come together. This means rethinking along new lines the connection between artmaking and a particular place, the workspace and the birth of inspiration or its absence.

Jeanne Larrouturou is a French-born percussionist who has been based in Switzerland for the last nine years. She has taken part as a performer, creator, and organizer in many projects in both French- and German-speaking Switzerland focusing on chamber music and multidisciplinary collaborations, notably with the Ensemble Batida and Fracanaum.

Aude Seigne is a writer who has published Chroniques de l’Occident nomade (2011), Les Neiges de Damas (2015), and Une toile large comme le monde (2017). She has also cowritten the literary series Stand-by (2019) with Bruno Pellegrino and Daniel Vuataz. She is a member of Collectif AJAR and regularly contributes to collective publications.
