Born in 1942, the artist Philippe Grosclaude lives and works in Geneva. He graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts of Geneva in 1963 and has been awarded a Bourse fédérale des Beaux-Arts three times (1965, 1968, 1981), along with the Boris Oumansky Prize (1977). His work has been regularly exhibited since 1965.
In 2020, he created the Fondation Atelier Philippe Grosclaude dedicated to the arts and culture. The Foundation is located in the heart of the City of Carouge, a beautiful historic suburb of Geneva that is dear to the artist:
“This space, my studio, has always been there throughout my life in art and visual research, and probably enriched it as well, a life made up of emotion, joys, moments of calling my work into question, and especially doubts.
“Indestructible ties were formed there. Discussions, fruitful meetings, and many events have played out there.
“All of these elements make me want to preserve and transmit this place so that it continues to exist and provides others with the chance to discover new art.”
